SAY NO TO HOLSWORTHY MEGA-SOLAR SITE
We’re fighting to prevent one of the UK’s largest mega-solar and battery installations taking 2,700 acres of Devon’s prime pastureland at Holsworthy Beacon. It’s not a local planning decision but a ‘Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project’: we need to persuade the government not to give it approval. So we need thousands and thousands of signatures on our Petition.
FIGHT THE EMERGING NORTH DEVON SOLAR ‘CLUSTER’
An application for 279 acres of solar and batteries at Bulworthy, close to the 164 acres already at Litchardon Cross and 137 acres consented for Gammaton Moor, will mean this small area will have almost 700 acres in total. We’re asking all our supporters to object to this with both of the two Planning Authorities involved, North Devon and Torridge. Objections received after the technical consultation deadline can still be influential.

SUPPORT OUR ROOFTOP SOLAR CAMPAIGN
Ed Miliband has answered our call to make solar panels mandatory on new-builds in the forthcoming Future Homes Standard. Now we need him to go further: retrofitting all suitable domestic, commercial and industrial buildings with solar, and keeping it out of the landscape and off our best farmland.
STOP THE EROSION OF DEMOCRACY IN PLANNING
The Government’s new Planning & Infrastructure Bill is proposing to reduce the influence of local communities on planning decisions, by limiting elected Councillors’ right to vote on planning applications. This is anti-democratic and wrong.
